Essay / Views of Detrich Bonhoeffer and Socrates - 1482
"The great masquerade of evil has wreaked havoc on all our ethical concepts. Whether evil appears disguised as light, charity, historical necessity or social justice is quite puzzling for anyone who is led to do so. on our traditional ethical concepts." Evil should have no place in the name or in the eyes of the law, except for the law to do justice to the evil that has been committed. The law is there. to protect and ensure equality and justice for all People are equal Every person has the ability to make their own decisions, however they choose. Some people make big decisions and others. bad Most of the time, people are good and try to help each other. They usually realize that what they do will impact others. Sometimes, however, people's judgment and morality. they judge others can be distorted. This is when crazy things can start happening. Socrates believes that to have a fair and just trial, everyone involved must be considered equal. He states that he is very unpopular with many people because of the slander that has been leveled against him. The fact that he became "unpopular" with many people suggests that his trial would have been unfair since the jury may have already based their opinion on him. In the same way that Socrates was slandered, the Jewish people were also slandered, making them unpopular and hated. Socrates and the Jewish people, because of the slander that had been leveled against them, had moved to the lower side of equality in the eyes of the law. When bad judgment corrupts those who judge, it begins to weave a troublesome web. Some people make the decision to be good people, and others make the decision to be bad people. There are of course different levels of each, but the principle of each is the same: good and evil. The law is good (supposedly) and lawyers are supposed to be good. They are the ones who bring peace and justice to countries and communities. If the rulers of the law are corrupt, communities and countries will become corrupt, the barrier between good and evil will become smaller and smaller, until chaos is unleashed..
