Ancient BabylonIntroductionAncient Babylon was a beautiful place. There was some amazing architecture, like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, which Nebuchadnezzar built for his wife, but scholars say they were never built. (C). The city began its rise to power in 1792 BC when King Hammurabi assumed the throne. He was a powerful and capable ruler who wanted to rule more than just the city of Babylon.
