    Alcohol consumption among college students has always been a popular topic among teachers, parents, researchers, and even students. The very act of drinking alcohol is not necessarily the problem, whether it is legal or not. The main problem is the act of excessive alcohol consumption by students, adults or not. Drinking small amounts of alcohol can have some consequences, but excessive drinking has more negative consequences than normal moderate drinking. There are many examples of the consequences that excessive drinking can have on students' lives, but one of the main consequences that students face due to frequent drinking is poor final grades. Excessive drinking in college is said to directly affect the lives of students. Student GPA. According to the U.S. Department of Education (2008), the direct correlation between grades and binge drinking is 4 drinks or fewer per week will result in an "A" grade point average, 6 drinks per week will result in an "A" grade point average.
