The media is one of the main influences that young people are surrounded by today. When this topic comes up, the media is always presented as negative and we rarely focus on the positive. The way our young students today act is a reflection of what our media demonstrates. Not everything the media shows or describes is what our young people will follow. Overall, we should embrace our culture and try to improve the way our media is presented to our youth. We are influenced by everything around us. How we perceive it and how it affects us can sometimes be something we can't help. We can see how media affects us every day just by looking at the way someone dresses or behaves. Media is presented in countless ways in our lives. This is why we act the way we do and develop differently from other cultures in the world. Often when we think about how media affects our youth today, we think of it as a negative effect. When in fact, it is not always so degrading for our youth. Although much of the media can have a negative impact on our young ones, it can also affect them positively.
