Court data is useful in determining which crimes have a higher recidivism rate than others, depending on whether a person who has been convicted reoffends more than a person who was not convicted. However, the data provides a poor indication of crime and does not provide any useful data on crime rates and current trends in crimes committed. Accident and emergency data provides a good indication of which crimes result in injuries, how quickly they occur, and what crime it is. resulted in injury or death.
