    Q1. What motivated you to choose this particular subject?A1. The history of the region now known as Scotland is rich in history of expansion, warfare and culture. Since I was little, I have known that my last name, Graham, was of Scottish origin. When I discovered genealogy, the study of ancestral family, I went crazy. I immediately traced my family to European countries: Germany, France, Ireland, Wales, Netherlands and England. These places were a big part of my heritage, but my Scottish roots went far beyond those of any other country. The majority of lines in my family tree, including the Grahams, trace back to Scotland. I even took an inheritance test which confirmed my findings. This encouraged me to learn more about my roots and so I started researching the land of the Scots. I soon discovered that the Grahams came from around Lake Mentieth in Scotland. Formally known as the Clann Greumach, the Grahams were a clan with land in the highlands and lowlands.
