This also happens in children. Today, one in fourteen children has been or is a victim of physical violence (Facts). The McCreary Adolescent Survey found that boys and girls between grades seven and 12 are often victims of physical or sexual abuse. In this survey, the average of boys and girls who are victims of abuse is approximately thirty-five percent of girls and sixteen percent of boys. According to the same survey, the highest rate of sexual abuse of women was twenty percent. The twenty percent represented seventeen year old girls in high school.
