Essay / My Personal Reflection and Integration Paper - 737
Before starting my first semester here at Vanguard, I often asked myself why I believe what I believe. I struggled to understand the Bible and even harder to find answers to my questions. It was difficult for me to find the courage to ask questions because I didn't want to come across as someone who didn't know everything about the Bible. Once I started my first year, I started to understand that I wasn't alone, that everyone has questions or things that they don't quite understand. If there was one class that I was going to really enjoy, learn from and apply to my everyday life, I knew it would be it. I really enjoyed learning the Bible and gaining more and more knowledge each time I went to class. Every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 p.m., I couldn't wait to go to class. Each week as I read the quizzes I learned more and more and each day I developed greater knowledge of why I believe exactly what I believe. The more I attended classes, the more I got answers to my questions. I learned what it must have been like for God to suffer on the cross for my sins. I also learned exactly how much Paul loved Christ and how far he would go to make Christ proud of him. I know the Bible better and when my eight-year-old niece had questions, I was able to answer them.
