They caught him stealing a car and holding a man with the same gun I saw the night Robert and I were robbed. I got on my knees and cried with happiness, with happiness at having my things back, but even more with happiness at being alive. The policeman said I was lucky because this man had a motive and it wasn't just about stealing people's things, he was a very bad man. Come to find out, the boy is younger than me and faces a lot of time in prison. It’s a life experience that I will never forget. It was far from a great vacation or a happy memory, of course, but it's also a memory that I will carry with me forever, and I will always remember one thing: watching my surroundings and treating others how I wish to be treated. Maybe if the man who stole my stuff had followed these simple rules he would be better off today, but all I can do is pray that he finds peace in his heart and that he never does anything like that to anyone again. I feel more blessed than ever, and as strange as it may seem, I am very grateful for this life
