Although efforts have been made by politicians and environmental advocates, much more needs to be done to reduce or even stop harmful activities which, in turn, harm the environment. It may seem like the environment is vast and self-regenerating, but that's not the case. In fact, climate change and a rapidly changing environment are raising concerns about what the future holds, especially for California. Since the environment provides many natural resources essential to human viability, California should establish and enforce policies regulating the disposal of toxic waste, help clean bodies of water, reduce carbon dioxide inputs that contribute to global warming, plant more. trees and offer rewards to people who actively protect the environment in order to get citizen involvement. Toxic waste and waste containing chemicals pose a great threat to the environment for many reasons. Unfortunately, California – among other US coastal states – is one of the most industrially polluted regions of the US (Cooper, 1996). It is therefore not surprising that it was found that the improper disposal of waste from industrial enterprises soon began to affect both wildlife and humans. People had to evacuate their homes because businesses illegally buried their waste, leading to contamination of water sources (Cooper, 1996). Animals ingested chemicals and toxins that seeped into the soil, and although efforts were made to regulate waste through the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Com...... middle of paper.. .... should reward people who invest time, money and effort to help the environment. In conclusion, the environment is extremely delicate and the fate of humanity depends on its balance; California should therefore implement and enforce policies that will help maintain a good balance. Even if people don't believe it, the environment plays a major role in daily life and dictates what the future holds. It is best to take care of the problem before the consequences of environmental misuse are completely irreversible. Therefore, regulating waste disposal, keeping beaches clean, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, planting trees and involving citizens are all crucial to improving the environment. . California is a great state, and the goal should be to keep it that way, so the future is better..
