    Essay on the RenaissanceThe 14th, 15th and part of the 16th century were a glorious era for Europe, it was the reformation of many old ideas and the formation of many new ones, it was what we called the Renaissance. The Renaissance brought many changes to Europe, the economy was greatly boosted by all the new explorations. The thriving economy helped inspire new developments in the fields of art and literature. And from there many new beliefs were formed. The European economy prospered during the Renaissance due to many factors. Overseas exploration brought in large revenues. Only Spain received additional revenue from Christopher Columbus and his crossing of North America to find a shorter route to the Indies. Exploration of the African coasts also generated a lot of additional income. This income came from the exploitation of Africans by kidnapping them and selling them into slavery. Revenue also came from establishing colonies in Africa and creating mines for gold and other necessary metals. With all this extra income coming into European countries, they had more money to help fund the arts. During the Renaissance, the artistic style underwent many radical changes. Giotto was a very influential painter at the start of the Renaissance.
