In recent years, social media has exploded as a class of online pontificating where people can create content, share it, and distribute it at a faster pace . Social media is the intercommunication between people in which they create, share or exchange information and feelings in virtual communities and networks. It is a tool that helps improve the user's news reading experience. The number of articles on different topics shared by a user can be colossal. It is therefore important to choose the most captivating articles to display. This is done by estimating the reputation of the sharer on an article on a particular topic. Scores are calibrated by leveraging data that records how people respond to articles shared by the sharer. The data source used in benchmarking is biased, which may not indicate whether the content shared is good. To solve this problem, an additional data source is used, which is not based on the database. These two data sources are generated jointly to estimate sharer reputation scores. Social media also helps users to build their incomplete profile and improve online services such as verifying a particular user's online information. In this article, we will look at three articles that focus on using social media to solve certain problems. This article aims to shed light on current developments in these areas. We will look for common ideas, disagreeing ideas, and non-overlapping ideas presented in these three articles. Additionally, we will examine the concepts used in arriving at the solution presented by these articles.
