Essay / An Unexpected Life: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley - 1292
An Unexpected LifeIn life, there is usually a cycle to the way things work. If we do one thing, it automatically leads to something else. It could be something unforeseen that could turn out to be bad or even good for us in the end. This is called cause and effect. This means that there will always be something that will happen, which is the cause, and there will always be a consequence, which is the effect. In the book Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, many things happen through cause and effect. The way she explains these stories that were told to her is very interesting and very detailed. The story between Victor Frankenstein and his creation is unreal. Everyone thinks the monster's name was Frankenstein, but that wasn't the case. Frankenstein was the last name of its creator; the monster was never given a name. As readers continue reading, they will better understand the causes and effects on the creator and his creation. Victor's desire to understand the human body and how it works led him to his own creation. “I was encouraged to hope that my current attempts would at least lay the foundation for future success. Nor could I consider the scale and complexity of my project as an argument for its impracticality” (43), Victor said. With these feelings he had obtained, he began the process of creating his own human being. With all the work he put into it, day and night, he didn't sleep and it drove him crazy. Once he realized he had successfully created a being, he discovered he had created a monster or at least what he thought was a monster. Victor's constant need to work on the creature caused wear and tear on his body. When this happened, Victor became... middle of paper...... a short ceremony and then went to a cabin. Victor, believing that the monster meant he was coming for him, told Elizabeth to go get ready for bed, and then he went looking for the monster. Soon he heard a loud scream and realized that the monster was attacking his love and not him. Life can be strange and when one person thinks they are doing the right thing, it can turn out to be bad for them and perhaps everyone else involved in the end. . Victor thought that if he forgot about his creation, everything would be fine and the monster would disappear. What he really needed to do was teach the monster himself about life and how to be good to people and do the right thing and maybe he would have felt loved and not would not have become violent. Life is about the choices you make and how you deal with the consequences. Every cause has an effect.
