Essay / REFLECTIVE CHARACTERISTIC OF MANGROVE SPECIES USING...
The study was conducted in the coastal area of Suppa, Pinrang, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The aim of the study, to determine the reflectance of mangrove species, visible light spectrum, wavelength region of 400 to 700 nm and near infrared (NIR) (700 to 900 nm). Four species are the mangrove Avicennia marina, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata and Sonneratia alba. Reflectance values obtained using the HR-1024 spectroradiometer tool. In the visible light spectrum region, blue (400-500 nm), green (500-600 nm) and red (600-700 nm) wavelengths showed that the highest reflectance values indicated by Rhizophora apiculata with reflectance values 5:42%, 15:29% and 16:25% respectively. While the reflectance values in the NIR wavelength region (700-900 nm) are shown by Rhizophora mucronata highest with a reflectance value of 85.67%. Understanding the reflectance characteristics of various mangrove species is very important in the management of mangrove ecosystems.
