Essay / Unrewarding Gun Control Efforts - 906
Why is it that people who have never used a gun or know how to use one are the ones who try to explain them and establish gun control rules? The reason behind this is that those who make the laws do not think that the laws apply equally to themselves, but to everyone. Although many people have never owned or used a firearm, many citizens simply view firearms as dangerous, bad, or worthless; however, they are actually very useful, protective and extremely valuable. These false views of guns have formed due to violent crimes committed with guns. Despite efforts to prevent gun violence by changing laws about the type of guns we can carry, the capacity of magazines, and where we can carry guns; people still use guns to commit violent crimes. First of all, does the government really think that changing gun laws will actually stop people from using them to commit crimes? Many politicians believe this, but they are completely wrong about this. People who use guns to commit a crime do not acquire them legally anyway; these are law-abiding citizens who cannot obtain guns or ammunition to protect their families due to price or legislative changes. Bieler said: “Criminals will always have guns. » Dan Noyes said: “Let's be honest. If someone wants a gun, obviously they will have no difficulty purchasing it, whether legally or on the vast American black market.” Dan also said "the report states. Responding to a question about how they obtained their most recent handgun, those arrested responded as follows: 56% said they paid with cash; 15% said that it was a gift; 10% said they borrowed it; 8% said they exchanged it while 5% only said they stole it” (Noyes) Recent gun violence. has more than double...... middle of paper ......
