Essay / Analysis of President Obama's State of the Union Address and timely. » On Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 9 p.m., in the chamber of the House of Representatives, Sergeant-at-Arms Wilson Livingood announced with great pride the arrival of the President of the United States. As President Obama walked to the podium, members of Congress and distinguished guests greeted him with immense respect. The Congress sat among one another; therefore, it created a healthier atmosphere in the House with less animosity. Republican House Speaker John Boehner and Vice President Joe Biden sat behind President Barack Obama as he addressed Congress, distinguished guests and the nation with the State of the Union . President Obama eloquently outlined a plan to invest in American innovation, education reform, and rebuild America's infrastructure so that America is a better place to do business and generate jobs. “This is our generation's Sputnik moment,” President Obama drew a correlation between the level of research and development that took place at the height of the space race and the level of research and development he believes that our generation must establish. The president emphasized biomedical research, information technology and particularly clean energy technologies. President Obama urged Congress to work with him to set a new goal: "By 2035, 80 percent of America's electricity will come from clean energy sources." " However, President Obama said that "advances in clean energy will only result in clearly connecting businesses to the global market." By investing in Americans' current infrastructure, we can keep the construction industry running and ensure these men and women have jobs, too. A final analysis of the speech would describe it as a road map for creating new jobs and new industries in America by investing in and adapting to a new technologically advanced world.
