  • Essay / The Effect of Environmental Sustainability - 1402

Although it is widely known that the Earth is undergoing cyclical climate change, there is ample evidence to show that human activities negatively affect the environment and therefore , the limited resources of the Earth. Many people are concerned about how the activities of developing countries, as well as those of developed countries, continue to pose a threat to our planet and its limited resources. This in turn affects human well-being, as exploitative and polluting activities will otherwise negatively affect humanity worldwide, but particularly less developed countries. It is therefore imperative that economic development and sustainable development cooperate together to enable the pursuit of human development and environmental sustainability in the future. How can we advocate for sustainable development while keeping in mind the needs of poor populations in developing countries? and not hinder economic development? The seventh Millennium Development Goal (MDG) concerns economic and human development in developing countries while taking into consideration the limits experienced by these countries due to their level of poverty. MDG 7 focuses on environmental problems and how best to solve them in order to help both poor people and the entire earth itself. The four main targets of MDG 7 are 1) anchor sustainable development in government policies and reduce the loss of environmental resources, 2) reduce the rate of biodiversity loss, 3) increase sustainable access to drinking water and sanitation in rural and urban areas. , and finally 4) improve life in urban slums. MDG 7 aims to ensure environmental sustainability in order to have sustainable economic development...... middle of document ......this target for 2015 will require agencies to continue to provide more assistance to growing population. We can therefore see that sustainability practices must be deeply rooted in the policies of governments, in the infrastructure of their systems and in the way of life of people, so that after 2015, when the MDGs come to an end, the developing countries can continue to be environmentally sustainable alongside their growing populations.
