Workforce DiversityCompanies and organizations must apply workforce diversity in their management. Workplace diversity is simply understood as the variation in skills, experiences, and ideas among employees. This may be due to differences on various aspects such as race, gender, religion and physical attributes. In addition to this, other discrepancies include national origin, medical conditions, and many more (Subbarao 98). Diversity among workers is an important tool that often leads to prosperity in an organization, hence the need to apply this important business virtue to the fullest. Diversity management is a concept that must be understood by an organization. This can be defined as appreciating the unique characteristics of workers and encouraging inclusion by eliminating bias and discrimination (Stalcup 78). Inclusivity involves involving everyone in the company's daily operations and decision-making while ignoring differences among workers. This would ultimately help the company achieve its goals and focus on making optimal use of employees' ability to work hard on the basis of competitiveness (Simona Vasilache 88). Minority groups have long faced discrimination in the business world. This is a group that constitutes people with disabilities. To some extent, women are also considered a minority group in the business world due to high levels of discrimination. These groups have been systematically excluded from organizations. They remain in the dark when it comes to important issues such as policy making. As if that weren't enough, other minority groups include gays, lesbians, the elderly, and ethnic workers.
