    The Pahlavi dynasty made Marji's family and other Iranian citizens dysphonic. The dynasty mismanaged Iranian money and was manipulated by Western countries. Enmity towards the monarchy grew, and eventually the Iranian people wanted a revolution. Marji's family had strong animosity towards the Shah. Many members of Marji's family as well as others fought against the Shah. But the Islamic Revolution took a turn many were unprepared for. Mohammed Reza Pahlavi (The Shah), the son of Reza Shah, acceded to the throne after his father on September 16, 1941. The Shah continued his father's policies and the modernization of Iran. He proceeded to the westernization of Iran by standardizing the educational structure “(primary, secondary, higher education)” (Wikipedia) with that of France. The Shah also built cinemas in Iran. Under the Shah's regime, oil was discovered, becoming Iran's new source of wealth. However, the discovery of oil also became the reason for Western invasions. Once Britain learned about the oil; they invaded Iran and took control of the oil fields. The Majlis committee headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Mossadeq disagreed on how the Western company, Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC), was profiting from oil and decided to nationalize. oil. On May 3, 1951, the Shah signed an oil nationalization bill to end Britain's ownership of the oil industry. Britain, furious at the decision, banned exports of commercial goods from Iran in September 1951. Britain also banned Iranian oil, which devastated the Iranian economy.
