Depth perception is known as the visual ability to be able to convert a 2-dimensional figure into 3 dimensions. It also allows us to visualize the distance of an object. Experience has a major impact and is capable of amplifying it further. Depth perception stems from two important cues that we use every day. The two signals are known to be binocular and monocular signals. For binocular signals, they are based on three-dimensional sensory information from both eyes. It is capable of providing a deeper image. For example, if an animal has eyes facing forward, they can derive from the different projections of objects on each retina so they can judge depth. Individual eyes see a slightly different angle of an object seen by each eye. So, for binoculars, if an object is far away, the image will come out of the retina as small.
