The daycare is a family business. They have some family members who work there as well as others who are not family members. There have been situations where an employee made a mistake and a manager stated how inexperienced that employee was or how they lacked proper education or training, even though they had hired that person to help them grow as a daycare educator. Some employees are late for work daily and management sees this as a problem as well. Instead of listening to what employees have to say, they choose not to. Employees notice the judgments happening throughout the daycare and begin talking among themselves, which sparks conflict. Workplace conflict influences how the daycare operates. Management always closely monitors its employees, making sure they are doing what they are supposed to do. Employees are now fed up because they no longer feel appreciated in their work environment. They don’t feel the need to work to their full potential, which ultimately affects the children. There may also be signs of attribution errors among employees. While this may not be true for everyone, there may be a few employees who are criticized for their performance because they are simply in it for the money and not the passion. Some may see this as a form of "bullying", but there may be other reasons why they are not giving children their full potential that they may not be aware of. Concerning the dynamics, there is a main manager (supervisor) and a director. They are mother and daughter. They also have a few family members who work at the daycare and the other employees seem to think there is favoritism. So, a group is made up of family members from the daycare. The other group is employees who are not part of their family. The program I came up with is known as the “Open Circle Program.” “This program will contribute to making peace between management and its employees by applying the elements of conflict. The elements are known as the 4 Cs which are: contact, cooperation, communication and conciliation. The two parties will meet together in a room; in other words, to meet.
