  • Essay / The Effects of Video Games on Young Adults - 1078

In the 21st century, enormous research is devoted to analyzing new approaches to children's entertainment. Nowadays we see that scientists are paying considerable interest to the concept of video games due to the plurality and diversity of theories related to this subject. Influencing young people aged 4 to 45, these video games have caused concern in our society due to issues such as depression, addiction and harmful behaviors. Video game violence is the problem I'm facing and I've done some research and investigation to show that there are big hypothetical reasons to believe that violent video games are hurtful. Science is trying to classify video games as a harmful element that has a huge impact on people's aggressive behaviors. Calvert and Tan (5) compared the effects of playing versus watching violent video games on young adults: “arousal levels, hostile feelings, and aggressive thoughts.” The results indicated that "students who played a violent virtual reality game had higher heart rates, reported more dizziness and nausea, and exhibited more aggressive thoughts on a post-test than those who played to a non-violent game. In another study, the general aggression model attempts to clarify both the enhancement of aggression and individual contrasts of helplessness in the face of the impact of violent computer games. As GAM indicates, situational and individual sensitive variables work together to influence a man's inner state (Anderson and Bushman 2002). The inner state contains discernments (considerations), influences (feelings), and feelings of excitement (physical). Each of these three things impacts one another, and each impacts an individual's understanding of a force...... middle of paper ......s of containment and use of screens. For example, I should try my best to overcome my family's problem and when I see my cousin playing a video game, which is really a great opportunity to explain to him the peaceful way because it helps to convey to him the value that rough arrangements are not appropriate. Additionally, I can try to motivate him to participate in games, join the school orchestra or an after-school club, or simply play outside with the other children instead of staring at the screen for hours and hours. hours. In conclusion, there are numerous studies that have found a positive correlation between negative behaviors, such as aggression, and violence in video and computer games. Violent games do affect children, as studies show, especially young adolescents, and I think there needs to be stricter regulation regarding the availability of these games to young children..
