Cause and Effect Essay - Causes of Divorce From the past to the present, people all over the world have decided to live together, which is called "getting married" in another word, so that they depend on each other for their livelihood. However, some couples fail to maintain their relationship; so they choose divorce, which is one of the solutions to deal with problems between husband and wife. Additionally, most people think carefully before getting married. However, divorce rates tend to continually increase these days, so it could be argued that divorces may be easier than in the past. There are three main causes of divorce: changing women's roles, stress of modern life and lack of communication, which are highlighted below. The first significant cause of the recent increase in divorce rates is the complete change in women's roles. In the past, men had to earn all their money to support their family's expenses, while women only did the household chores. So women had no money, which forced them to depend on their husbands' money. Due to these situations, it is too difficult for most women to separate from their husbands. However, these situations are completely changing today. The equality between men and women in roles is very clear at present, so women can work outside to earn money, while men share household chores such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and childcare. It is clear that women are independent of money because they can earn money themselves to support themselves. As a result, divorce rates have recently increased. Another cause that confirms the recent increase in divorce rates is the stress of modern life. Many people living in globalization are under considerable pressure to make money. We obviously see that stress has been present since they were children. For example, in Thailand, students generally want to attend a reputable school so that they can attend reputable universities. Studying in renowned universities mainly allows you to have good opportunities to find a job or earn a lot of money. This situation is not only happening in Thailand, but also in many countries. Some people are fired from their companies; therefore, stress arises in their family, which leads to divorce. Some families can earn money, but it is not enough to cover their expenses. So it's easy to think about divorce. Nevertheless, unemployment rates tend to continually increase and, therefore, divorce rates may also increase..
