    Have you ever thought a lot about what happens in the brain when you listen to music? Almost all human beings listen to some type of music, from country music to religious music. Come to think of it, does music help anything, is it just something that humans like to spend their time with or is it harming us in some way? I'm going to tell you about what the brain releases when a person listens to music, how music helps people with Alzheimer's disease, and other little things that music does to the brain. First, when a person listens to music they like, dopamine is released in the brain, which gives the person pleasure. This pleasure that the person feels is considered a reward system located in the brain. The person listening to music releases dopamine just before they even start listening to the song and while they are listening to the song, during their favorite parts, the dopamine is released in larger portions (Pappas).
