Essay / The world population is 7 billion: the challenges - 1862
It cannot be said that the growth rate of the world population has increased significantly over the years. Although reaching 5 billion has been a challenge for the world, the sixth and seventh billion people were added to the world's population in a record 12 years (Haub & Gribble 2011). Additionally, the population is expected to reach 9 billion people in 40 years (CGW 2014). Such rapid growth raises the question of whether it affects global economic development, the environment and resource availability (Grenham 2012). Although some argue that increasing population could be beneficial for the global economy and development in general, it is evident that various challenges related to overpopulation will arise in the future and some of them are already visible today 'today. society to identify possible problems that could arise due to overpopulation and find ways to resolve these problems. In this essay, I will seek to critically assess the economic, social and environmental challenges that the world may face in the coming years and suggest ways to overcome them. First, it is obvious that our planet has a limited number of resources, and despite attempts to distribute them wisely, there are often not enough to go around; and rapid population growth could put even greater pressure on the world's already scarce water and energy reserves (Bart 2005). Therefore, overpopulation leads to various environmental problems such as attrition of fresh water resources, deforestation and even ozone depletion due to increased greenhouse gas emissions from areas densely populated. The problem is getting worse because, with a few exceptions, there is no market mechanism to bring polluters... middle of paper ... r, there are still not enough policies to fight against the negative impacts of overpopulation. It is difficult to determine whether all the policies suggested above will be effective and helpful in meeting the challenges that will arise, but if no action is taken, in a few decades the world could face serious problems. It's best to start strategizing to overcome these problems earlier so that you don't end up with a series of unsolvable problems one day in the future. However, it should not be forgotten that the increase in population not only brings challenges for society, but also opens up vast opportunities for economic and technological development; and by taking advantage of opportunities and implementing effective preventive strategies in the face of challenges, humanity may be able to achieve a balanced and sustainable societal structure in the future..
