Essay / A Look at Database Processing Applications - 1260
Database Processing ApplicationsComputers are one of the most important things in daily life. However, most of us don't realize that what's inside that computer makes the computer what it is. What helps us communicate and create with a computer are the applications we install on the computer that give the computer its personal character. An application is what businesses use to store; share data on a database system, in order to succeed, called a database processing application. Database processing applications can be defined by their history, their environment as well as their web processing application. In order to understand the application of database processing, we must first look at the history of database processing and its evolution in the technological world. Originally, database processing was used in large businesses and organizations as the basis for large transaction processing systems. These systems were called file processing. However, as large companies processed a phenomenal amount of data in the file processing system, it became unmanageable. So, in 1960, the first database applications created were aimed at solving problems in file processing systems. Likewise, the new system also posed a problem due to development difficulties. However, management continued to push for a more efficient way to more easily link data from one file system to another (Kean University, 2013). Initially, limitations in file processing prevented ease of data integration. Large companies have begun to develop organizational data databases focused more on operational data in departments such as accounting to manage orders, inventory, a middle of paper...... database processing Data and other processing applications are emerging as databases continue to grow. One of the developments currently occurring is the integration of database storage into the decision support system. A database can establish a connection or determine relationships on its own with minimal human intervention (Databases: Past, Present and Future, 2013).
