  • Essay / 9/11 and fight against terrorism - 1510

This mission asks for information on the fight against terrorism at the national level, the major mistakes that have been made, my personal view on 9/11 and if there is anything we can do something to prevent future attacks. Was 9/11 avoided? My personal thought is no. Let me explain: To prevent the 9/11 attacks, we have to go back to 1998. Before 9/11, “there was no credible counterterrorism strategy until 9/11. This should have been in place after the first bombing of the World Trade Center by Islamic radicals and the attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998” (Hoffmann, 2004, para. 1). When the attacks took place in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, and we knew that bin Laden was behind these attacks, we should have acted appropriately to eradicate him and his infrastructure by taking mass prisoners , fast and permanent. action from 1998 to 2001. Therefore, I believe we should have been able to cripple Bin Laden's infrastructure, by eliminating Bin Laden, by removing his leadership, we would have forced his infrastructure to regroup, or postpone any type of plans they had in place. . Therefore, we should have used armed predatory aircraft, special forces, and continually "bombarded their training camps, without allowing them to regroup" (Hoffmann, 2004, para. 6), and this should have taken place between 1998 and 2000. former presidents missed this opportunity, as did the “CIA leaders who were responsible for such operations” (Hoffmann, 2004, para. 6). The major mistakes and mistakes we made I think the mistakes we made came from all departments. There have been errors and mistakes made by bureaucratic mismanagement and by others who were supposed to monitor the chatter and other leads of a... middle of paper ... rism neither now nor ever, and we we will never forget our deaths of September 11.
