Journalism gives me the “deep stuff”, the content that not all writers know. Media and communications will give me the essentials, the elements that others may feel strong in, but only a few are able to execute. So, studying media and communication will give me the opportunity to examine issues that few subjects teach today. Journalism, media and communications are a perfect combination, three peas in a pod that go together perfectly. Additionally, media and communication will allow me to critically analyze scenarios and texts, demonstrating great initiative, independent thinking and research.3 As with journalism, media and communication have a lot to do with research, critical thinking and, moreover, explaining your arguments. So, studying both subjects at the same time will strengthen my skills and also teach me new and valuable knowledge.
