    My fit with this specialty, however, goes beyond my own fascination with the field. Ultimately, I believe I possess two essential qualities that justify my place in pediatrics. I think anyone who has spent time in pediatrics understands that this is vital. When a child is sick, it can be scary, exhausting and hopeless for everyone involved. While it is important to be honest and upfront with families in order to provide the best possible care, the ability to celebrate small accomplishments and nurture the positive aspects of a child's health can have immense healing effects. , not only for the patient, but for the whole child.
