    War Measures Act: The War Measures Act was a law passed in 1914 by the Canadian government in Canada during the First World War, among many others that the government had adopted and which allowed the government to take control. communications, establish censorship of transatlantic cables and organize the militia (Bolotta, Angelo et al. 39). During World War I (1914-1920), it had been used to imprison people of German, Ukrainian and Slavic origin, and it was similarly used during World War II (1939-1945) to imprison people of German, Ukrainian and Slavic origin.
