This theory was first discovered by Alfred Wegener in 1912. He noticed that the coastlines of the west coast of Africa and the east coast of South America seemed to fit together like a puzzle. Further in his discoveries and examining the globe, he revealed that all of Earth's continents had at one time been connected into a supercontinent called Pangea, which is a Greek word pan "all" + Gaia "earth". Pangea began at the South Pole and the Earth's rotation eventually caused it to break apart, which was consistent with Wegener's theory. Throughout his research, traces of fossil evidence were found to support his theory, in addition to this he proposed ideas on how continental drift played in the construction of mountain ranges of the world. Pangea looks like the diagram below: Most scientists today have a better understanding of the composition of Earth's tectonic plates. There are three main driving forces for the movement of the Earth's tectonic plates. These are mantle convection, gravity and the Earth's rotation. Mantle convection involves the large convection currents of molten material in the Earth's upper mantle. As these currents transmit energy to the earth's asthenosphere (middle of paper ... is only a matter of minutes without quickly consuming the tropical it had eaten, and this evidence proves that the north pole was once a tropical region The overall review of research agrees that the Bible has evidence to support that there was indeed once a change in the movements of the tectonic plates, as highlighted in the points above. -above, but we cannot ignore the fact that not everything geographical worked hand in hand among the discoveries, some inexplicable events like the great flood It remains geographically inexplicable and remains a mystery to be solved.
