My first way would be to explain to them that Dan is an autistic student. By making them understand this particular thing, it would help to understand the impact it has on learning. Informing them of this condition will show them why things such as instructions, directions, etc. are needed. should be emphasized to Dan several times, as he can get distracted quickly. Another way to communicate with a stranger to understand Dan is to inform him that he becomes motivated to learn when he is interested, whether it is the subject, resources, assignments, etc. The article “Meeting the Needs of English Language Learners” states that people do not learn if they are confused or bored (Freeman, 2000). Students engage more in lessons when they are interested. Using the previous example of my little teacher's enthusiasm for using the Chromebook showed his level of motivation. Also during this lesson, he was very interested in watching the videos that their teacher allowed them to watch. During classes, the videos make students feel like they are watching TV and most of the time, the videos provide excellent animated information on topics that resonate with students.
