Essay / The Five Wars of Globalization - 1438
Globalization is a term used to address the international relationship that links countries and markets in the trade of natural and material resources on a global scale, through vast improvements technology and communication. Thanks to capital, there are many illicit networks in the world today. In this article, I will argue that globalization is the cause of the newest illicit networks. Illicit networks are a form of institutional behavior that does not follow government rules or laws. First, Thomas Erikson's article on globalization will be discussed; where he explains that globalization is not only part of capital but of the world, for example the interconnection of communication and technological development promotes the global economy in global trade. Second, the globalization of the world has its own advantages; globalization is giving rise to many types of interconnected systems, where different forms of illicit networks are being created. The monetary system at its peak was designed to separate nations not only in patriotic form, but also in terms of wealth. This is another form of power inequality. Third, illicit networks of activists, such as illegal immigrants, drug dealers, and traffickers, are created through the domestic obstacles they face. They are created because they have problems in their society, in the countries where they live; this can range from war to any natural or life-threatening disaster. Thus, globalization is one of the illicit networks that the world faces today because it is more difficult to control. Globalization in context existed before the 1980s, where individuals around the world maintained interconnected relationships with each other in the international trade of economic resources. In the early 17th and 18th centuries... middle of paper ...... after living for all, there will be no high increase in drug use. Individuals will be educated not to consume these forms of drugs, and there will be no more war because there will be equality between individuals. The weapon requirement will no longer be necessary as weapons are needed to defend or attack. Borders will not be looked at harshly to prevent people from crossing them, because this time people will cross the border to visit the country and not to escape the harm done to them or to live a better life. Thus, globalization is not only a factor in illicit networks, it is inequality itself which creates these networks. Works Cited Eriksen, TH (nd). Globalization The key concept. New York: Oxford.
