    IntroductionCuritiba is globally recognized for its innovative urban strategies that have enabled the city to develop in a controlled and socially equitable manner. The unique political culture that led to the radical changes in Curitiba can best be described as a benevolent authoritarian regime. An authoritarian style of governance is generally not associated with comprehensive and inclusive urban planning. However, the figures who set the stage for comprehensive development worked as a collective group, made up of like-minded individuals and setting goals based on the expressed needs of the people. the main driver of political decisions.
