She showed that she scored a thirteen for information, a fourteen for vocabulary, a thirteen for similarities and a fifteen for comprehension. All of these scores were above the standard deviation for most children aged eight. Delilah has shown a great interest in reading which I encourage by discussing it with her and trying to find other books that might interest her. Encouraging Delilah's use and interpretation of language proved to be one of my most important successes. Language is defined as a form of communication, whether spoken, written or signed, based on a system of symbols (Santrock, 2016). Much of language development comes from children reading and increasing their reading level as they grow. Delilah can say almost any word and only occasionally gets stuck when reading aloud. She achieved this thanks to my encouragement and my involvement. Reading especially helps develop broader vocabulary and comprehension, two categories in which Delilah scored highest. My involvement in reading it is reflected in its high scores, so I think I do very well in this area with
