  • Essay / Burden of Beauty - 868

It is rare for an individual to be blessed with both intelligence and beauty. Most people are born with one or the other; those with brains may be unhappy in the looks department and those blessed with beauty may be unhappy in the intelligence department. As with most things in life, being beautiful has its pros and cons. In some cases, beauty can be a blessing, but in others, it can be a curse. Beautiful people suffer a lot from stereotypes. They are often seen as "bimbos", "idiots" or "scrutty" and others may assume that beautiful people are rude, uptight and/or think they are better than everyone else. Assumptions are made about beautiful people before anyone really knows them. Extremely wealthy people often seek out young beauty to give their lives meaning. Older, wealthy women look for young, handsome men, while older, wealthy men look for beautiful, young women to date or marry. Beautiful people in this type of situation usually make their profession look good and do not seek their own career. Instead, they live and spend their wealthy spouse or significant other's money. It doesn't become a burden until they are no longer young, beautiful, and their rich and famous spouses are willing to trade them for new, younger models. It is then that their beauty becomes a burden and they find themselves without a “meal ticket” or any means to take care of themselves and maintain a lifestyle to which they had become accustomed when they were married to a rich spouse. Most wealthy individuals require their beautiful counterparts to sign prenuptial agreements before marriage, leaving them unable to maintain a lifestyle they became accustomed to during their marriage. Beautiful...... middle of paper ...... beautiful people make the average person feel like they have something more powerful than the beauty their victim possesses. Although beauty can be a blessing in youth, it is wise for beautiful people to realize that one day they will look at a face they no longer recognize. in the mirror. If beautiful people can realize that their beauty is only skin deep and one day it will disappear, and can live a life not stereotypically beautiful, they can enjoy the benefits of being beautiful while still being able to do the transition from beauty to aging. a healthy way. It is wise for beautiful people to realize when they are young that one day they will not be able to survive in the world on looks alone and spend their youth without using their beauty for old-fashioned hard work, and creating a life who will carry them from their youth to their old years.
