Support your discussion with evidence from your research. Environmental Problems Environmental problems are defined as “the harmful aspects of human activity on the biophysical environment”. Today, many environmental problems arise. With this article, resulting from compacted research, I intend to describe multiple major issues linked to the well-being of our environment. I will explain how these issues affect humans and other organisms, now and in the future. Priority issues affecting North Carolina, as well as the rest of the United States, include: global warming, energy, endangered wildlife, pollution, water, and sustainability. Specific events surrounding these big issues are: the Keystone Pipeline (stretching from Alberta, Canada, Nebraska, Illinois, and Texas); the Dan River (Eden, North Carolina); Chemical spill in Elk River, West Virginia; and drought in California. These events will be discussed along with other current issues.The Keystone PipelineThe Keystone Pipeline is owned by TransCanada, an energy company based in Alberta, Canada. If you looked at the Keystone Pipeline website, you would find some very positive things about the pipeline: “The Keystone XL Pipeline will be the safest and most advanced oil pipeline operation in North America. Not only will this bring critical infrastructure to North American oil producers, it will also create jobs, long-term energy independence, and an economic boost for Americans.
