  • Essay / Recruitment and Recruitment Process - 1590

Job agencies, job fairs and online recruitment have all become popular avenues for potential candidates. Employment agencies have been divided into different categories: employment agencies and executive search firms. The determining difference between the two would be the salary level. Employment agencies will deal with lower level employees up to middle management. Executive search firms will fill senior-level management positions. These types of businesses will get paid whether they are successful or not. Unlike employment agencies which will only be compensated if the organization welcomes an employee. (p. 199) Career fairs or recruiting at special events have been popular. This would be extremely popular with new businesses or those that were not well known. This would be beneficial in attracting potential candidates. Job fairs tend to be sponsored by a number of companies who all staff booths to publicize available openings. (p.199) It reminded me of the Chesapeake-sponsored job fairs that were held annually probably ten years ago. There would typically be over 100 companies there, looking for employees in one location. This has greatly improved people's chances of finding employment.
