  • Essay / My path to becoming an engineer - 720

“If I can, you can”. That was the last sentence of an inspiring TED talk from a stand-up comedian about how she overcame obstacles in her life with humor, grace and a refusal to give up. My expression was similar when I visited a science exhibition organized in my school where amazing projects were presented by the students. That's when I decided to become an engineer. As I began to pursue this new interest, I quickly realized that there was engineering to show off, and then there was engineering happening in the background. Familiar with the perspectives of the first, I delved deeper into the second and quickly realized that it was electrical engineering that was “the right one” for me, a view further strengthened after enrolling in the bachelor's program at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. (UET Lahore). Slowly and steadily, I began to unravel the secrets that were a mystery to me as a child and thus, my thirst to know more grew. When we studied digital logic design and microprocessors, I was excited. With the knowledge of signals, systems and control systems, I was euphoric. Studying digital systems design, digital signal processing, and industrial electronics made me excited. During my undergraduate studies, I was exposed to various courses with practical applications such as digital logic design, microprocessor systems, control systems, digital signal processing and industry. Electronic. In all of these courses my results were good as I got mostly an A grade in these courses. I got an internship with “Agritech Fertilizers Limited” in the instrumentation and control department during the summer of my first year. There I got a chance to study the basic instrument...... middle of article...... the experience gave me sufficient exposure to the basic concepts and research possibilities. Now is the best time to dig deep and explore an area of research for which I have both aptitude and taste. I believe that a symbiotic relationship between the student and their department is of the utmost importance to the success of a graduate program. LUMS is one of the best institutes in Pakistan and has a strong and characteristic profile in the fields of electrical engineering. LUMS is therefore a perfect choice to fulfill my desire to pursue a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. I hope LUMS will help me become what I always dreamed of being: a competent engineer on the outside and a caring humanitarian on the outside. the interior. I hope my dream comes true, and with that hope, I look forward to being a part of the illustrious student body of LUMS..
