  • Essay / Toy Story 3-D”: funny and exciting - 684

This is the best movie I've taken my kids to see in years. The adventure continues for the toys in the third Toy Story film where Buzz Lightyear and Woody the cowboy played by Tim Allen and Tom Hanks, must once again find their way to Andy's room before he leaves for university. I know the storyline sounds familiar, but I really think you'll be happy to see that it takes a bit of a twist this time around and ends with a very exciting trip to the dump without sparing any humor along the way. My essay seeks to show why this film is funny and exciting while not just repeating the same story over and over. Like the previous Toy Story films, the story begins with a fun scene where Andy is happily playing with his toys, unfortunately for the toys. It's all just a dream as they are now kept in a toy box in his room as he is far too old for toys. He's now preparing to leave for college, and his mother has given him three options while he packs for school: a trash can, an attic, or a daycare donation. Woody, being the leader and calmest of the toys, is convinced that none of them will. be thrown away. As Andy begins to sort through all his belongings, he selects the group's most common toys to put away in the attic, except for Woody who is chosen by Andy to go to school with him. This is where things go wrong for toys. Andy's mother accidentally mixes up the toys and after Woody tries to save them, they all end up in a daycare. I highly suggest going to see this movie with your kids as it also has a subtle touch of adult humor for the parents and if you have issues with 3D movies they were kind enough to show it in regular 2D. Also. It will make you laugh while you are on the edge of your seat waiting to see how they escape danger and ends with a touching moment that will almost make you cry. Toy Story 3 truly has it all, whatever your age. Black4Works cited websiteEbert, Roger. “Toy Story 3.” Reverend from Toy Story 3, dir. Disney/Pixar and Lee Unkrich. rogerebert.com. Np, June 16, 2010.
