The vision of life after death in Roman mythology consists of mortals "earning a place among the gods" (“Greek Gods versus Roman Gods”). The actions a mortal takes while still alive affect the outcome of their afterlife, resulting in a place with the gods in Heaven or a descent into Hell. The Roman gods appease mortals because they maintain a recognized state of mind. However, in Greek myths, life after death focuses primarily on "physical life on earth" ("Greek Gods versus Roman Gods"). Instead of condescending to humans, the Greek gods reward and remember mortals for their virtuous deeds ("Greek Gods vs. Roman Gods"). The central point of Greek myths solidifies on obstacles and achievements overcome, instead of achievements accomplished in vain to receive pleasant pleasure.
