  • Essay / The Importance of Quality Education - 623

When I was six years old, my parents finally enrolled me in kindergarten. I was so excited and eager to learn; however, I was also very scared and nervous. I didn't know what to expect. When I got there, to my class, my heart started racing. Excitement was building within me. Eager and ready, I met my teacher. She was such a nice woman and I could tell we were going to learn a lot this year. For me it was an exciting time, I was finally able to start school. I was only six years old and it was important to my parents that they enroll me in school while I was still a teenager and still developing. Research shows that the early years of a child's life, when the brain begins to develop, are a very important window for them to reach their full academic potential. When children are young, they don't know much and they have a lot to learn for years to come, after all, the earlier the better. Families play the most important role in promoting the healthy development of their children; however, many families do not have adequate information and support that would help them create a place where their children could learn and develop. Some parents are not educated to know what they need for their children. Parents need to know what they are doing to support their child's development and how to do it correctly. Parents who had children ages K-12 were surveyed, and here's what the survey found: 86% had a designated homework spot in their home, and 67% had an adult in the household who checked that their homework was done. Parents don't have to give their children everything, but everything they do will help them. In today's economy, a high-quality education is no longer long...... middle of paper ......t in 2011, arts education added $7.6 - billions of dollars to the country's GDP. That year alone, arts education as an industry employed 17,900 workers whose wages and salaries totaled $5.9 billion. Education has taught me a lot and that is why I think it is important that children receive a good education so that they can make a difference in our community and our economy. Overall, children need to start their education early, but not only that, the government needs to make school more affordable and give parents the right tools to help their children. Additionally, higher education will give children more opportunities in life. In today's economy, it is not so easy to find work. In conclusion, I think education is a very valuable resource and we should use it.
