    There is an ongoing war against women in today's society, but it has been cleverly disguised and waged for so long that many people do not don't even realize that it is continuing. Women have been fighting for equality for centuries. Although today we are not fighting for the right to vote, hold office, or own land, we still fight a more quiet battle for respectful and fair treatment from the opposite sex. Men have long believed themselves superior to women in terms of intelligence, social position and physical abilities. In fact, it's such an old and ingrained belief that many men never think to question it. It is high time that these stubborn ways of thinking are improved. Sexism is the belief or mentality that the male gender is superior to the female gender (Byron). Sexism manifests itself in many ways, subtle and otherwise. Sexism most often manifests itself through men disrespecting, neglecting, degrading, and viewing women as sexual objects for their pleasure. As retired Navy Captain John L. Bryon said: “Sexual harassment, fraternization, and other unbelieving acts are symptoms of the problem, but they do not define it: the disease is indeed deeper than that. » Women today live in a world where the word “feminist” is an insult. Feminism, by definition, is the belief in the full economic, political and social equality of men and women (Mankiller). Contrary to popular belief, feminism is not the struggle for a society dominated by women, but a society where men and women are truly equal in all respects. Feminism is actually the most inclusive social movement.
