This book presents the results that were implemented in 2011 in the execution of a bilateral cooperation protocol signed between the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade and the National Tourism Development Company at the beginning. of the year, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia. The cooperation was initiated with the idea of making a qualitative contribution to the development and promotion of investment projects in tourism in the Republic of Serbia and brought very successful results which are partially presented in this monograph. The results of cooperation in accordance with the expressed interests of both institutions aim to promote and stimulate ideas on the importance of the tourism sector in the integrated sustainable development of Serbia, through the development of integrated urban development and architectural research, studies or projects linked to the sustainable development of new tourist sites. tourist destinations in Serbia through a modern and attractive approach to urban development and architectural articulation, spatial design and equipment. The main attention of this first initial stage of cooperation was directed towards the development of various urban and architectural research and expertise of potential tourist destinations in Serbia. , with a particular focus on disadvantaged areas that lack detailed documentation, which addresses the spatial component of development. Furthermore, the entire research process laid the foundation for the formulation and testing of new methods and techniques in the field of architect education. This work therefore represents, through its textual content, a set of scientific research results carried out on the chosen sites, which are the subject of the first phase of this cooperation, and represents an overview of the main current issues of urban development in the context of the search for sustainable solutions in the tourism sector in Serbia.
