Nowadays it is extremely important to be cost effective with your money and everything you can spend it on. It is important to be cost and energy efficient because you could always use more money, you could have the same type of appliances but just using less energy and you could also save the Earth . In this project we had to try to build a house that was both eco-friendly and cost-effective. It's important to have energy efficient homes because it can reduce your energy bill, it could keep your heat where you need it if you choose the right products, and it would help you have more money in your pockets if your bills are lower. When designing our home, we wanted to have something cost effective while still meeting the needs of an average sized family. For a few rooms, we decided to go with a paint that would cover well but would be less expensive than a name brand. For our online 3D design, we used HomeSyler.com. We thought it would be easier to use than another online site. We have not made any changes to our online template. The only thing we changed was the paint and flooring in a few rooms. When we scaled down our graph paper design, we first counted the squares it covered, then we used a scaled down chart and scaled a 1 inch square to 0.5 inch . It's important to make sure your scale is accurate because you don't want your house to be different sizes than it should be. While our guest speaker, Mr. Julio, was here, he talked a lot about how heating and air conditioning are used. important for a building, home or any indoor location requiring heating or cooling. (Fox Affairs). Almost anything can be designed to be energy and cost efficient. I learned from this project that it is always possible to make anything cost and energy efficient. I also learned some equations that I probably would never have used in life unless I became someone who would go into building something or working at a power plant. I honestly think I will be able to use it in the future, knowing that it is important information that could be used at any time in my life. You can still be energy efficient in everything you do. You can always do something that would reduce your energy bills. You could have Energy Star appliances and still get the same results from the appliances. They might be a bit more expensive, but they might have the same features as any big brand appliance..
