    The result is the election of poor quality leaders who do not respond, for example, to the complaints that Americans have against the Obama government (Newton, 2010). Additionally, voter morale may weaken due to constant mis-selection of incompetent leaders, which affects and diminishes the spirit of democracy. Additionally, there is a dictatorship of the majority due to the fact that the majority always wins, especially in an election. Political influence on democracy is also a disadvantage for democracy (Janda, 2012). Politicians always influence people to vote for or against someone or a given law, and because people are politically vulnerable and susceptible to influence, the result is poor governance which leads to economic degradation and political consequences.
