    This survey aims to explore the extent to which attitudes towards Chinese immigrants during the construction of the transcontinental railway differed from those towards Irish immigrants ? To assess attitudes toward Chinese immigrants, this study focuses on the construction of the transcontinental railroad in the United States in the second half of the 19th century. This study examines the opinions, tasks given during the construction of the railway and the benefits given to Chinese and Irish immigrants as well as the impact of their work on opinions towards each immigrant group. To investigate attitudes towards Chinese and Irish immigrants, this study focuses on economic accounts from the second half of the 19th century. This investigation also uses sources detailing differences in benefits and positions during the construction of the transcontinental railroad and the extent to which Irish immigrants and Chinese immigrants differed in the opportunities available to them.B. Summary of Evidence The Transcontinental Railroad was an 1,800-mile railroad connecting Omaha, Missouri, to Sacramento, California. This railroad was built in varying environmental conditions, including grassy plains, desserts, and mountains like the Sierra. The railway revolutionized transportation in the 19th century (Galloway 4). The first transcontinental railroad was built in the 1860s to connect the east and west coasts of the United States.
