  • Essay / Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues - Homosexuality is...

Homosexuality is abnormal and immoralOf all the most popular topics in today's media, issues regarding gays and homosexuality usually top the list. Homosexuality is generally defined as a sexual relationship between partners of the same sex. The debate about its causes and consequences has lasted for many centuries and in almost all periods of human history. However, never before in human history has this approach been accepted on such a scale in Western society as it is today. The question I seek to answer in this article is whether such widespread acceptance should in fact be given to homosexual behavior? Is such behavior rational, scientifically functional or is it actually detrimental to the high level of civilization we have achieved? I) THE SCIENTIFIC PERSPECTIVE: Scientifically speaking, sex is a means to an end. The goal being the propagation of the human race. This objective can never be achieved by sexual relations between men (in the case of gays) or between women (in the case of lesbians). Therefore, the general conclusion is that homosexuality is irrational and illogical. If we consider the construction of the male and female bodies, what we immediately notice is that the construction of the male body (the penis and anus) (no vagina) does not allow you to have sex with another man. The construction of a woman's body (no penis, no vagina) also does not allow for sex with another woman. What is obvious to common sense is that the construction and location of specific sexual organs in the bodies of a man and a woman are suitable for sexual relations between a man and a woman and not between members of the same sex. Therefore, the conclusion is once again that homosexuality is...... middle of paper......society is thriving. If clear, concrete evidence were indeed found the other way around, I would happily modify my conclusions above. Let our end therefore be towards the truth!"..What remains after the truth, except error? How then are you turned away."(Quran 10:32)WORKS CITEDComer, Ronald J. Abnormal Psychology.
