    What is literacy? “Literacy is the quality or state of being literate” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary). The traditional element of literacy can be taught, but in today's society this is not the case because in this millennium the digital age has taken over. Literacy starts from a young age, so having the ability to be literate has a strong impact on the future, traditional forms of literacy are also being erased and replaced with digital forms, literacy is something that can be improved, being literate is very important because in today's society lack of literacy has major consequences. And also a literate person has certain skills which are never forgotten. Literacy is a fundamental element that makes a huge difference in a person's life and without it, life will be even more complicated. Literacy has a strong impact on a person's life for many reasons, for example, it can open doors for an individual to succeed in the world. Literacy is never easy to develop, but once acquired, it can never be forgotten. Achieving the quality of literacy can determine your effectiveness in life. The individual's environment throughout early childhood impacts the quality of literacy they develop. What happened to the quality of pen and paper during literacy? Traditional elements such as the pen and paper method have been changed due to advancements in technology and the quality of learning has been digitalized to suit the times. “Just as the nature and expectations of literacy have changed over the past century and a half, so has the nature of writing. Much of this change is due to advances in technology, from pen and paper to the typewriter, from word processing to the networked computer, to the design of software that can handle the medium of paper.
