Dance around the worldDance serves as an exhibition of expression throughout the world depending on its cultural context and its function of producing a work of art, a means of socialization or its use for ritual purposes. Bollywood, one of the most famous cultural dance styles, is essentially an Indian cinematic dance style modeled on both traditional Indian classical and folk dance while fusing inspiration from more modern styles, allowing the performer to play the words of a song, to shape a story. The wild world of African dance, on the other hand, represents the fundamental principles and belief system of historical Africa, expressing their inner feelings. Although these dance styles may seem to fall on either end of the spectrum, each shares the similarity of a "mass dance pattern that can be a mirror of humanity...functionally enabling the human body to be exposed to the world, communicating in all directions.” aspect, whether it is the beautiful art form or the everyday movement” (Doris Humphrey).
